Tetradecogon Necklace

If you are a math wizard, or love scrabble you know that this tetradecogon necklace has 14 sides.
This statement necklace was made using a upcycled beaded chain, wine colored felt, bamboo, and a vintage pendant. The inside of the necklace has 2 cutouts and the necklace rests at mid chest.

How it was made:

1. Cut out the shape of felt you have cooking in your head.
2. Pick the spots you want to have the cutouts in the center of the necklace and cut them out.
3. Place the piece of bamboo or other stiff rod into the top crease to keep it from folding in on itself.
4. Find a necklace and place the ends in between the felt shape sandwich & pin.
5. Sew all around the outside and inside of the necklace.
6. Add a vintage pin or earring!

Big Ol' Bolo Tie

You shouldn't play favorites but this one is definitely mine.

Almost named, I <3 Pizza (I would have added pepperoni if I went that down that path), this necklace was realized to just be an over sized bolo tie!! I feel in love with it even more at that moment.

The Big Ol' Bolo Tie Necklace was made from a upcycled necklace and multi colored felt. The red triangle has a golden bottom sew on with blue stitching. The chain goes comes out at the bottom of the triangle in two separate pieces.

How it was made:

1. Find a necklace that falls around your belly button.
2. Cut 2 pieces of felt into the shape you want, in this case a triangle.  
3. Lay the necklace down in between the 2 layers of felt.  Allow some necklace to fall out of the bottom of the shape.  Pin the felt around and sew closed.
4. Snip the necklace with wire cutters at the bottom crease for the bolo tie effect.
5. Now you can go back and go crazy with layering pieces of felt or just add one like I did at the top of the necklace.

Leather & Shapes Bib Necklace

 

This is a bib necklace that is made from upcycled leather. On the front of the necklace are triangles burnt into the leather. Circle cutouts surround the neck and leather fringe hangs from the bottom.\

I found this piece of leather and it looked like it had been used for a horrible school play costume.  They had used the other side of the leather which has a darker wet look and in between each circle was a green circle bead that was horribly glued in.  After some clean up I branded the triangle pattern into the leather.  The model is my beautiful friend Tessa.
